One Direction member Harry Styles is to be credited for the band's song "Olivia" as he penned the track along with Julian Bunetta and John Ryan. However, who was his inspiration for the song? Was it Louis Tomlinson or Taylor Swift?
"Olivia" is another hit song from One Direction's album "Made In The A.M." that's written by Styles. It is said that there's something creepy about the song as it could be about the Larry Stylinson bromance, Movie News Guide reports. The site went to add that a good evidence to back up the claim was to check Styles and Tomlinson's previous Twitter posts on Aug. 10, 201, where both of them wrote, #olive at 5:03 am, which was the same date and time.
Another interpretation about it says that "Olive," when said in a British accent, repeatedly sounds like "I Love," according to Hollywood Life, which could hint that the two band members were declaring their love for each other. However, before more controversies start to make headlines, Styles has explained what the song is all about.
"Olivia is whoever you want her to be. It's open to interpretation. I think it's how people take songs in different ways and that's what's fun. Who am I to tell someone what a song means to them? It doesn't always necessarily mean the same thing to them as it means to me," Styles said in an interview, according to Sugar Scape.
Meanwhile, a separate report from Bustle claims that the song "Olivia" could be inspired by Taylor Swift, ex-girlfriend of Styles. The report says that the 1D singer might have written the song as response to a number of tracks that the "Bad Blood" singer wrote about him and their failed romance.
According to the report, the twist is Olivia is the name of the 25-year-old pop singer's cat. The possibility that Styles is referring to Swift in the song is reportedly very high as he could have drawn a connection between the two.
