"Twin Peaks'" Laura Palmer’s Home can be yours for $549,950

A home in Everett, Wash., which served as the home of "Laura Palmer," the main character around whom the 1990 thriller series "Twin Peaks" was based on, is up for sale with a $549,950 price tag.

The residence at 708 33rd Street in Rucker Hill was used to portray the "Palmer Residence" where Laura, Leland and Sarah Palmer lived. Both interiors and exteriors of the house were used in the pilot episode of the David Lynch-directed series. The residence was also used in the movie - Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me - that followed the serial's two-season run.

Marilyn Peterson, the owner of the house recalled inking a deal for the home to be used in the series.

"When I answered the door, she said: 'Well, I'm from the movie company and working on a movie for ABC TV. They would like to use your home in the movie,'" the Zillow Blog quoted Petterson.

"She was a little tiny young gal, and I thought, 'Yeah, and I'm the queen of England.'"

Apparently, the filmmakers told Petterson that the house was perfect for their plot and could be fixed up to look like a home that belonged to an Attorney father, a neurotic mother and a double-life leading teenage girl who prostitutes herself in one life and is a homecoming queen in another.

Listing records of the home doesn't recognize the home a celebrity residence, but introduces the house as a "charming 30's home in the heart of Rucker Hill."

Spanning an area of 4,104 square feet, the single-family house has four bedrooms and one and half bathrooms.

Interiors of the residence feature hardwood flooring, drywall ceilings and French doors and windows.

Living spaces include a formal living room, dining area, an updated kitchen with a mid rise island and custom cabinetry, and a study. There is a fireplace in the master suite which also has walk-in closets. A basement can serve as a den or game room.

Outside, the home has a spacious backyard and a detached two-car garage.

In the pilot episode, Laura is murdered and her death sets the storyline for the series. The show garnered great fame both nationally and internationally and its pilot went on to rank in the top 25 of TV Guide's "100 Greatest Episode of All Time."

"Twin Peaks" - the series and the movie - will soon be available on Blue Ray by July 29. The version will also include 90 minutes of deleted scenes and alternate takes on Laura's murder and her life before death.

"During the last days in the life of Laura Palmer many things happened, which have never been seen before. They're here now alongside the new transfer of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Twin Peaks, the television series," David Lynch was quoted by The Rolling Stones.

Several on-screen homes have hit the market of late, including the fixer-upper shown in "Money Pit," the mansion seen in the "Dallas" reboot and a "Scarface" mansion.
