NBA Rumors and News: Nick Young and Lou Williams to Be Placed in the Trade Block

The Lakers are more on the celebration and commemoration of the retirement of Kobe Bryant rather than heating up the hard court. There were also some reports that the team is "embracing tanking" rather than pushing harder towards the season. According to Sircharlesincharge, "the Los Angeles Lakers have publicly made it clear that they plan on tanking this season. Well, they didn't exactly say it verbatim, but the fact that they continue to stand by Byron Scott suggests that they don't have any interest in winning many games this season."

Aside from likely receiving a great draft pick in the lottery, the Lakers are also included in the rumor mill about some possible trade deals. There are some reports suggesting that the Lakers should start moving some of their player for a better advantage.

Some of the players involved in the rumor which should be placed on the trading block are Nick Young and Lou Williams. According to clutchpoints, "Nick Young's numbers have been on the decline ever since he averaged 17.9 points per game in 2013 and plenty of teams could use a proven 3-point shooter on their second unit."

Lou Williams on the other hand should has been observed to have lost its tempo in the game. There are now some reports linking Williams to a possible trade. According to clutchpoints;

"After winning the Sixth Man of the Year award, Lou Williams appeared to be one of the better signings for the Lakers this past offseason. While he flourished in the up-tempo, heavy ball movement offense of the Toronto Raptors, Lou has struggled to match those numbers with the Purple & Gold. Williams would be a solid fit for a number of contenders; the Lakers should get whatever value they can out of him."

Though there are still no confirmation about the possibility of becoming a trade piece, the action of coach Byron Scott would somehow attest to it. However, it is still better to not assume otherwise stated; guess we would just have to wait for some updates on the said rumors.
