Nothing lasts forever even in the NBA. After two decades of running, hustling and playing inside the hard court, things would finally meet its end this season for Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba has finally declared his retirement from the game that was made more exciting with his presence around. The days of being the MVP, scoring 81 points in a game, three-peat NBA title victory, have entered the books, and soon the name behind each record would then follow.
Aside from the idea of Bryant ending his career this season. There are other important questions coming from fans and experts alike. The main question after his retirement is what would be the next big thing for Kobe? That is a very logical question that almost every avid Lakers fan wanted to know.
There were some speculations linking Bryant for a possible stint at the NBA on TNT as analyst, of course together with his fellow teammate Shaquille O'Neal and known critic Charles Barkley. According to yibada, Kenny Smith of TNT crew said told TMZ Sports that, "We got a seat for you Kobe on TNT... and it'll be ready for you in April 'cause y'all won't make the playoffs." However, there are still no updates about the said offer.
Aside from an analyst job, rumors about Bryant coaching a team was also a prevalent question. However, Mark Medina of LA Daily News via clutchpoints stated on his twitter account that Bryant will not be coaching or even interested in becoming a GM. The social media post detailed that, "Will Kobe coach? Will he be a GM? Before the questions were fully asked, Kobe interrupted and said, 'No,' to each one."
However, there was a confirmation from Bryant that he would not be shying away from the NBA. According to some reports, Bryant would like to follow the steps of Michael Jordan, thus suggesting that Bryant would also want to own an NBA team. According to the social media post of Medina, "Kobe on future: "If I'm involved in basketball from a league perspective, it would be from an ownership perspective."
