'Dark Souls 3' Update: Release Date, PEGI Rating, Steam Listing, Trailer Details

After a great AAA game is announced it is already expected that fans will ask the question, "When?" So before the official release date for "Dark Souls 3" was announced, it seemed that fans would stop at nothing to fish for information.

As previously reported, one of the largest retailers of video games, UAE-based Geekay Games, has accidentally revealed the release date of "Dark Souls III" in its listings and based on the leaked screenshots, "Dark Souls 3" would be released on April 12. Fans treated such news with a grain of salt. It turns out the listing of Geeky Games was for real. The game's official website has the same images and the same release date. Officially, "Dark Souls 3" will be released in April 2016. And now it also has a Steam listing.

According to Design and Trend, "Dark Souls 3" is reported to be the "darkest" installment with new fighting mechanics, slightly faster gameplay, more superb cinematics and changes in PvP multiplayer modes. But Steam users, possibly for lack of something else to do have trolled the listing with tags like "Casual", "Atmospheric and some have even added "Family Friendly." Those who have been following the "Dark Souls" lore know that those tags don't really apply to the game in any way.

Seriously speaking, according to Steam, "Dark Souls 3" will be released in April 13, 2016. But steam does not have a preorder option just yet. Instead it lists the game with its PEGI rating. It says that "Dark Souls 3" is only for ages 16 and up for violence and Online Gameplay. Nevertheless, the release date is settled and it is only a matter of time.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America has released a trailer for "Dark Souls 3" last week. The clip gives us a peak in to the darkness that players are about to embrace in the game hailed as the "Best RPG" at Gamescon 2015.

"Dark Souls 3" will be available on PS 4, Xbox One and PC on April 12, 2016.
