The Los Angeles home that Ashley Greene, the "Twilight" star, rented last year has sold for $1.09 million. This is the same house that caught fire last year.
TMZ breaks the news of the sale noting that the landlord renovated the place and flipped it for a pretty penny.
Last year in March, the third floor unit in Granville Towers flared up due to a candle left unattended in the living room. Apparently the fire started out on the sofa. Greene, her assistant and brother were all out until late the previous night. They crashed into the home and were sleeping when the fire broke out.
Greene and the two guys ran out of the apartment when the flames started lapping up the rooms. However, after they got out, they realized that Ashley's two toy fox terriers, Theo and Marlo, were still inside the home. The brother and assistant tried to rescue the dogs, but in vain. The firefighters managed to save one of the dogs while the other died due to the heat under the bed.
Around 10 fire trucks came to the aid of the flaming building. The condo was completely destroyed and the star was devastated with the loss of her dog. However, like everything - time healed Greene, while the apartment was given a complete makeover.
Real estate sources told TMZ that the repairs cost about $303,000 and the buildings HOA paid the bill. Greene is reportedly still battling lawsuits from the owner and the neighbors; and is also being held liable to pay the repair costs.
Meanwhile, the home, which now looks as good as new, sold just within a month of its listing. Property records at Redfin reveal that the residence appeared on the market in April for $1.09 million and was put into escrow the following month, and finally closed transaction May 23, 2014.
The revamped residence now boasts of light hardwood and stone-tiled flooring, drywall ceilings and large glass windows. The 1,817-square-feet home has two bedrooms and three bathrooms now.
The residence has a formal living area, a modern kitchen with granite counter tops and custom wooden cabinetry. The master bedroom has large closets and a soaking tub in the bathroom.
The building itself offers luxury amenities like a 24/7 doorman and access to manicured gardens adorned with fountains. The residential tower has been home to several other celebrities like Rock Hudson and David Bowie as well.
