Adrian Gonzales, the first baseman for the MLB team "Los Angeles Dodgers," is offering his home in La Jolla, San Diego, up for rent asking $20,000 a month for the humongous villa.
Gonzales purchased the residence in 2010, just about four months before he got traded to the Boston Red Sox. But A-Gon has moved on since then. In 2012, the player got traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in what was touted as the "largest sale in franchise history."
"In this position, you have to be aggressive. You can't be reckless, but you have to be aggressive and creative and think outside the box. For a while there, we weren't really able to do that. From a baseball standpoint, it's far more conducive to be as good as you can be now," Ned Colletti, general manager of the Dodgers, told ESPN then.
While that trade-in was crucial, this time Colletti probably won't sell his jewels to rope in an "elite pitcher."
"Any elite pitcher will come at this time with a lot of prospect ability attached, probably more so than I'd like to part with. We need to get Hanley [Ramirez] on track health-wise. If we get [Chone Figgins] and [Justin] Turner back and not lose anybody, pitching is where we have to be careful. Unless you've got young players ready to pitch in a race, everybody's in the same boat, some worse off than we are," MLB.com quoted Colletti.
Meanwhile, Gonzalez is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game. The managers are reportedly trying to give him some rest.
As Gonzalez is away playing in Los Angeles, putting up the La Jolla residence for rent doesn't come as a surprise. The residence is a huge 10,000-square-feet single-family home, comprising of seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
Built in 1958, the residence gives off a Cape-Cod vibe and especially with the panoramic La Jolla coastline views it provides, the home is a perfect summer retreat.
The humongous residence has high, drywall ceilings and hardwood flooring. The two-storey home includes a formal living area with a fireplace, a dining area, a modern kitchen that has a mid-rise island with marble counter-tops and a reading nook. There is a large wine cellar, an office, a gym, a theater and a family room as well.
Outside, the home has manicured lawns both on the front and back. There is an infinity pool and huge covered patios. The residence can be rented along with all the furnishing shown in the pictures here for an additional cost.
