'Gravity Falls' Season 2: 'Weirdmaggedon 3' to Feature Time Baby as Villain? Season 2 to be the Show's Last as the Story Reaches Conclusion?

"Gravity Falls" Season 2, under Disney XD, will not air until 2016, but one of its episodes, "Weirdmageddon 3," will possibly bring all the answers about the future of the TV series. A new villain, Time Baby, is expected to return early next year and will be similar to Bill Cipher, another antagonist in the earlier episodes of the series.

This time around, there will be a fight between the two villains, according to Movie News Guide. Series creator Alex Hirsch revealed that Time Baby will most probably be featured in a very violent battle against Cipher. Time Baby will reportedly have the powers to influence the world and interfere with its continuum.

Hirsch is apparently having a hard time satisfying the desires of fans regarding the show and just want to have a breathing space before he continues and reveals the future of the series. What is certain is that he initially planned the series to become a "one epic summer," which will run along with a beginning, a middle and an end.

According to Christian Today, the possibility of answering Xyler and Craz's existential question might actually be revealed in the finale episode of Season 2, "Weirdmageddon 3." The possibilities of Season 2 being the last season of the "Gravity Falls" series is also reportedly evident. Hirsch actually posted on Tumblr that the show is not being cancelled but is just about to reach its end.

The series was earlier released in 2012 and will return for its second season anytime between January to March of 2016. The finale episode for Season 2, "Weirdmageddon 3," may also offer a possible future or a final conclusion for the Disney animated series.
