After the demise of the Prince of Spain in the mid-season finale of "Reign" Season 3, Mary (Adelaide Kane) is now getting ready as Spain prepares to invade her kingdom.
According to the recap by Christian Today, during the mid-season finale, Mary and the Prince of Spain, Prince Don Carlos (Mark Ghanimé), were getting along just fine, and it was earlier reported that Mary had to remarry for political reasons. The Prince of Spain was her first suitor; however, things changed when the prince's darkest secret was revealed. British Ambassador Gideon Blackburn (Ben Geurens) threatened the Prince that he would reveal to his father, the King of Spain, his sexual secret, which turned out to be that the prince was into S&M.
Mary knew about this secret and was having second thoughts about the alliance. However, Catherine (Megan Follows) convinced her to give it a try since she believed that forming an alliance with Spain will benefit the kingdom.
Mary then agreed and gave the prince a chance by trying S&M with him. The blindfolded prince did not know that Mary was accompanied by Catherine, and when he discovered it, he felt betrayed and stormed out of the room, and that is when he stumbled to his death. Now Mary and Catherine would need to come up with a good reason to cover up his death.
However, according to MNR Daily, the prince was able to survive, and this situation may not work in Mary's favor. It was also reported that Spain's plans of invading her country could be because of what happened to the prince. In the promo video, Mary can be seen being advised by her people that she needs to flee the country because Spain is also coming for her, and it will surely end badly.
Fans will have to wait a little longer to know Mary's fate as "Reign" Season 3 will return on The CW on Jan. 8, 2016.
