'Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus' News, Rumors, Specs, Features: Next Samsung Flagship May Come With Round Edges And No MicroSD Slot

Just a few days ago, 3D renders of a purported "Samsung Galaxy S7" has been published and it showed the expected 5.1 inch and 6 inch flagships from the Galaxy S series. Now, another realistic render was released, this time by OnLeaks and uSwitch. This new leak is in the form of a short video and it shows the "Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus" looking a lot like the "Samsung Galaxy S6", with its sides just a little more rounded. The 2.5D glass on the back and front of the device actually plays nice with its rounded edges.

As far as the design is concerned, everything looks great, at least if you like to see a minor change from the "Samsung Galaxy S6". However, for the phone's functionality, it's unfortunate that no microSD slot can be seen in the video renders of the phone. There's also no USB Type C.

Furthermore with the specs, it's worth noting that the device in the video is the "Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus". And basing on what the video presents, the device measures about 164 x 82 x 7.8 mm. The home button was made wider and narrower, with a new measurement of 18 x 5 mm (from 16 x 6.7 mm on the "Samsung Galaxy S6"). The front camera's position of the "Samsung Galaxy S7" has also been changed, moving it to the right.

This new flagship phone may mark the company's return to Qualcomm chipsets. It may also be the start of Samsung's utilization of a BRITECELL camera. The "Samsung Galaxy S7" flagships may get launched on the 21st of February, which is one week before MWC.

The "Samsung Galaxy S7" phones are Samsung's most anticipated devices for 2016. It may be the company's attempt to take on Apple's next flagship which is expected to be the "iPhone 7". However, if the "Samsung Galaxy S7" gets launched February, it may be too far away from the "iPhone 7", since Apple is known for launching new flagships at the later quarters of the year.
