The residence was first up for rent in 2007 at $40,000 a month. It resurfaced in 2011 and 2013 respectively for the same amount and was available this May too. Not a penny was reduced from the price but now, the beautiful residence can be yours temporarily, that too for $5,000 less every month.
The residence has a dedicated website to it that explains that the home was built for Dustin Farnum, the famous silent film actor.
Mirren and her husband Taylor Hackford purchased the home in 1986. The home is a secure and private estate with lush gardens, which is why the property is called "The Garden Estate" by various listing sites.

Designed in Mediterranean style, the property boasts of an infinity pool, a detached guest house and separate servant quarters.

Mirren hit it off big time playing the overtly sensuous Cora Ryan in the sixties' hit movie "The Age of Consent". She received "Damehood" from the Queen of Britain for her outstanding contribution to the Performing Arts in 2003.
With a scintillating career spanning over two decades, Mirren is one of those actors who has aged gracefully. Mirren is all set to grace the theaters soon with the new Stephen Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey produced movie "The Hunderd-Foot Journey." The movie, slated to hit theaters August 8, is a drama flick based on the novel of the same title by Richard C. Morais.
