Apple Watch users can now control their GoPro cameras on their wrists. The camera company updated its iOS app on Thursday, according to Macworld, which integrates the Apple Watch and the line of action cameras of the company. The integration turns the watch into a remote control for the GoPro’s Wi-Fi action cameras.

The functions available for the Apple Watch as a remote control are recording controls like starting or stopping shooting videos, settings adjustments, video file transfers, and ‘HiLight’ feature which is a bookmark to a section of the video which makes it easier for editing thereafter.

Just like the iPhone app, the Apple Watch can also be used as a viewfinder before recording. Adding a shortcut known as Complication on the watch to easily hit record and capture shots is also now possible. Moreover, certain functions area also available such as scrolling through video to find and save a specific frame as a still image.

GoPro is an action camera company that was founded by Nick Woodman way back in 2002. He started the action camera company after a 2002 surf trip to Australia wherein he was hoping to capture quality action photos of him while surfing. Apparently, it is for the amateur photographers could not get close enough to a surfer, or obtain quality equipment at reasonable prices. His desire for a camera system that could capture the professional angles inspired the 'GoPro' name.

What do you think of the new iOS Apple Watch app update from GoPro, the premiere action camera company? Do you own a GoPro camera and an Apple Watch?
