"Scream Queens" Diego Boneta joins the sophomore season of The CW's "Jane the Virgin."
In the latest "Jane the Virgin" update, a new hunky actor will arrive in her life. The Wrap reported that Diego Boneta will take on the role of Dax.
Boneta's character is described as a genius skateboarder who will check out the computer owned by Jane (Gina Rodriguez). It was said that he will also "surprise Jane in a few ways."
Can Boneta be Jane's newest love of her life? TV Line previously hinted about this possibility. According to EP Jennie Urman, Jane will take a break over her complicated relationships with her ex-boyfriend Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) and hotel owner Rafale Solano (Justin Baldoni). Urman also hinted that the two guys will have their own new eye candies.
“There’s going to be a point this season where Jane is exploring dating, and it’s not Rafael or Michael,” Urman said.
Urman isn't the only one who shared Boneta's casting as the award-winning lead star Gina Rodriguez posted a photo of them together.

Rodriguez is seen holding the camera while she has her other hand was intimately placed under his chin. Boneta, on the other hand, also shared the same photo with the caption: "Having a blast working on Jane The Virgin with my beautiful and talented friend @hereisgina."
The 25-year-old Boneta was known for her recent role as Pete Martinez in "Scream Queens" starring Emma Roberts, Skyler Samuels, Nick Jonas, and Lea Michele.
The actor was also seen in various TV roles such as Rocco in the Mexican soap opera "Rebelde," as Javier in "90210" and as Alex Santiago in "Pretty Little Liars." His other film credits are "Mean Girls 2" in 2011 and "Rock of Ages" in 2012.
