Jose Aldo, undefeated featherweight for 10 years, has lost the title to Conor McGregor in the most awaited UFC 194 fight in Las Vegas that concluded last night.
As previously reported, a lot of bad blood has been going on between the two fighters since McGregor won over Chad Mendes. The two have been reportedly firing shots at one another. The most unforgettable exchange between the two was during the time when McGregor said, "It's his shady ass that doesn't get tested over there in Brazil" after the guy from Brazil who was supposed to take Aldo's drug test got arrested by the police. With that, Aldo has responded by taking to Instagram to callout McGregor in a caption that went along with a picture of him and his drug test results.
They have finally settled their long standing rift once and for all in the octagon. McGregor has defeated Aldo in nearly a heartbeat in the first round. According to LA Times, McGregor has been bragging about his greatness since day one. Love him or hate him, he has proven to be a good fighter when he knocked out the best lightweight MMA fighter of 10 years.
As described on the LA Times, "McGregor knocks Aldo out cold with his first big punch. It was a left hook as Aldo came in. He followed with a few punches on the ground but they weren't necessary at all."
Back in September, Dana White said, "If he beats Jose Aldo in Las Vegas in December, the next fight will be in Croke Park. We told him he could defend his title at Croke Park." According to SB Nation, Croke Park is an 80,000-seat outdoor stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Legalities and weather conditions are two of the biggest obstacles that is keeping the organization from bringing MMA events to Ireland. Since McGregor has toppled the 10-year Champ, Dana White would have to work through those obstacles to keep his word.
