Back in 2013, Ennio Morricone made the headlines as it was reported that he openly criticized the famous director Quentin Tarantino. As per The Hollywood reporter, the Italian composer and conductor stated that Tarantino scores his films "without coherence." This being said, Morricone's statement flooded the headlines.
The composer has worked with the director on several films such as the "Inglorious Bastards", and both of the "Kill Bill" franchise. Though they may have worked hand in hand in numerous films, Morricone stated that he would never want to work with Tarantino again.
During one of his classes, Moriccone told his students that he no longer wants to work with the "Django Unchained" director.
"I wouldn't like to work with him again, on anything, he said last year he wanted to work with me again ever since Inglourious Basterds, but I told him I couldn't, because he didn't give me enough time. So he just used a song I had written previously."
Though these rumors spread like wildfire, BBC News reported that Morricone denied criticizing Tarantino. During an interview with the news website, the composer stated that his original comments were misinterpreted. He then added that: "People should pay a lot of attention when they write something down."
In addition to his statements, Morricone also added that Tarantino's talent in film making is actually a gift for him as Quentin was able to adapt his compositions.
"On the contrary, I was very, very flattered, the fact that my music, which had been written for other films, could be adapted to the poetry of Quentin Tarantino's film-making was a great gift for me.
He also cleared out that fact that is only issue with Tarantino's films was it was too bloody for him, which is his own personal opinion.
"The only thing I criticised of Quentin Tarantino was a single scene in a single movie which, for me, was too violent and too ghastly. I couldn't watch it."
