Not much has been revealed about Season 2 of the hit show "Sense8," but recent reports claim that although the series has been recently renewed for its second season, Netflix is apparently hesitant about it, which resulted in the delay of "Sense8's" release, which is now pegged to 2017.
Although Netflix has yet to confirm the news, Yibada reports that the premiere date of "Sense8" has been moved to a later date. The series was reportedly supposed to return in June 2016, but it has been reported that filming will only begin in March 2016, which supposedly makes the original premiere date of only three months after production impossible.
According to the report, John Toll, the show's cinematographer, recently revealed to Film Stage that they are still ironing out details regarding the show's renewal. Considering that the show will be shot in various locations and will involve a complicated process post-production, other reports apparently speculate that the show will return in 2017.
Fansided previously reported that the show will supposedly follow the pattern of other Netflix originals such as "House of Cards," which premieres around the same time every year.
Writer Bryce Olin wrote, "I really hope Netflix can release Sense8 Season 2 in June, but simple math suggests we really shouldn't 'expect' to see Season 2 until much later in the summer or fall of 2016.
If I had to guess, I would guess the release date of Sense8 Season 2 will be Monday, August 8, 2016, which is also one year after the Sense8 Season 2 renewal announcement and another sensate birthday! That day has worked out for predictions for me in the past, so I'll just stick to it!"
Meanwhile, Realty Today previously reported that Season 2 of "Sense8" may feature a love triangle among Rajan, Kala and Wolfgang, which may lead to Rajan becoming evil and eventually turning into the show's villain. However, these speculations have yet to be confirmed by the show's production.
