Beyonce, the "Halo" hitmaker, has reportedly been on the look out for a home in New York City, according to some tabloids.
Amid rumors of Beyonce and rapper hubby Jay Z's crumbling marriage, the New York Post is reporting that the "Single Ladies" hitmaker might already have a "foot out of the door." Citing insider sources, the Post claims that Beyonce was looking at a $21.5 million penthouse unit in the Chelsea neighborhood.
"She was very quiet, as if she was looking on the sly," the source told the Post. Other sources told the publication that Jay Z has always been super-involved in the couple's real estate matters and his absence during the apartment showing could be proof enough that the couple was splitting.
Another source speculated that it would be "wildly unlikely" that Beyonce was buying the apartment for her mother or sister and that all signs indicated that it would best fit Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy's necessities.
The apartment in question here is the penthouse unit perching atop the building at 520 West 19th Street, a multi-storey glass condo apartment with a unique floor plan. The unit is being marketed by Adam Taylor of Town Real Estate.
According to the listing records, the apartment is a 4,054-square-foot, five bedroom- five and a half bathroom residence, which is about half the size of Beyonce and Jay Z's tribeca pad.
Floor plans of the home at Streeteasy show that the residence is a duplex unit. The entrance of the residence opens into a large mixed dining and living area. A modern gourmet kitchen sits on the left of the entry, while a cozy library sits beside the living space. There is one bedroom on the floor. There is a huge terrace as well that offers panoramic views of the city.
The upper level of the residence has the other bedrooms and the master suite with a huge master bath and a walk-in closet. A laundry and an office complete the floor.
Interiors of the home boast of high ceilings, stone-tiled and hardwood flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows with slider doors.
