First Shots of Zaha Hadid’s New York City Building Interiors Revealed by Curbed

The first interior shots of the Zaha Hadid-designed building at 520 West 28th Street, New York City, have just hit the web and the renderings, as expected, are just Zaha!

Curbed got hold of two unreleased interior shots of the building's condos. Apparently, a tipster had dropped off the yet-to-be-officially-unveiled renderings to the publication.

The first rendering is of a typical Zaha kitchen. The space has a mid-rise island that looks more like a shapely rock from outer space in the center of a sophisticated gourmet kitchen.

Curbed also got hold of a rendering of a typical master bath, which is a little incoherent. The bathroom has some highlighted textures, and walls and glass partitions.

The renderings come just a month after news of the penthouse atop the building selling for $35 million surfaced. The 6,391-square-feet unit - Penthouse 37 - is the most expensive apartment of the upcoming structure.

Two other penthouses will also be available in the building. Penthouse 38 - a three bedroom with three and a half bathrooms is being offered for $12 million and Penthouse 39 - a four bedroom with four and a half bathrooms is being offered for $17 million.

In July 2013, Zaha Hadid and her team revealed renderings of the residential building. An earlier feature on Realty Today read:

"The condo building will be an 11-storey structure with 37 apartments. All the homes will be up to 5,500 square feet large with 11-feet ceilings, tailored interiors and fitted with modern fittings and fixtures. The building will also have core elevators, with most apartments having access to private vestibules that lead right into the homes. All the homes will have spacious terraces that will provide beautiful views of the city.

The building will also be stuffed with luxury amenities like ample recreation space for the residents, a large garden, an indoor pool and spa, playrooms and other entertainment facilities."

In accordance with its prior revelations, the builders have now acquired construction permits from the city and the specs come from the documents filed with the city's Department of Buildings.

The builders will reportedly add a 10,000-square-feet retail space, complete with restaurants and a gallery. The residential structure will also have a 75-feet lap pool and a sauna with private beds, hot and cold waterfall showers and other such luxury amenities.
