It seems as though Tina Fey and Kurt Russell are the biggest "Star Wars" fans of us all.
During his appearance on "The Graham Norton Show" on Friday, Dec. 11, Kurt Russell revealed that he actually auditioned for a couple of parts in the original "Star Wars" movies. Entertainment Weekly reports:
"Russell, who stars in Quentin Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight' this holiday, revealed on Friday's episode of 'The Graham Norton Show' that he auditioned for the original 'Star Wars,' and read for both Luke Skywalker and Han Solo."
"Years ago, they were going to do this movie, and guys my age were all going in to read for it," Kurt Russell shared. "It was the Millennium Falcon this, and the Death Star that - we had no idea what we were talking about."
Tina Fey has long been professing her love for the "Star Wars" films too. In fact, the 'SNL' alumni became famous for dressing up as Princess Leia when she was still in "30 Rock," as reported by Mashable.
"If you want to meet some perverts, dress up like Princess Leia," joked Tina Fey.
Since the two were unable to live out their fantasies of becoming a part of the "Star Wars" franchise, the two quickly jumped on the opportunity Graham Norton presented: reenact the famous "I Love You" scene in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back."
The scene recreation then unfolds: Princess Leia tells Han Solo that he loves him, right before he's supposedly frozen in carbonite. Kurt Russell as Han then replies, "I know."
"See, that's cool," said the "Sisters" star immediately after Kurt Russell delivered the line. "He should have booked it."
Not only that, but British comedian Josh Widdicombe also had a small part in the reenactment, as the beloved and iconic "Star Wars" character, Chewbacca.
