At the 2014 Comic Con in San Diego, Marvel - the comics giant - announced that one of its favorite superheroes - Iron Man (Tony Stark) is moving to San Francisco this fall.
Marvel is all set to release a new Iron Man series this November, titled "Superior Iron Man" and the series will see Tony Stark packing up to leave New York City and moving to San Francisco.
In the movie series, Tony Stark was shown living in a Malibu cliff-side abode, which was eventually blown up by "the Mandarin" in the third installment.
In the print version, Stark has always been a New York City resident but he will now be leaving the Big Apple to move to The Frisco where he can be closer to the technology he needs to build a new app for his Extremis Armor!
As far as the plot goes in both the comics and the movies, Stark will need a new house now.
Considering the fact that "Shellhead" is moving to San Francisco, Curbed compiled a list of places that Stark can call home. The publication points to a similar Cliffside home that Stark previously lived in, among a slew of other man caves he could occupy in the area.
The residence at 830 EL Camino Del Mar, belongs to tech entrepreneur Jack Dorsey. While the home is not for sale, Dorsey wouldn't really have a choice if Stark decided to live there. (Just saying)
But not everyone is happy with Stark's decision to move to the Frisco. According to CityLab, it would make a lot more sense for Iron man to move to Cleveland because San Francisco doesn't really need Iron Man.
"Cleveland has proven that it will welcome narcissists with open arms, even those who have already betrayed the city. As long as he's promising wins, even an anti-hero is going to get the welcome mat in Cleveland. This city has seen worse than Extremis," the website explains.
In the upcoming comics' series, Iron man doesn't just shift to a new city but will also get a new suit.
"First, I have to say that it is a privilege for me to design a new Iron Man armor. I was really excited to be working on it [and] really had fun. The new costume is more simple but flashy. We tried to catch a more sumptuous look [compared] to his other costumes. Oh, and there are some blues and it is all shiny!" series artist Yildiray Cinar told Marvel.com in an interview.
Word has it that iron man will also be taking a darker path in the upcoming series, just like the black spiderman.
Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr., the man who portrays Iron man in the movies, recently bought up a residence in the Pacific palisades for $2.5 million. More on that property here.
