Developers in Missoula, Mont., are finishing work on a neighborhood where the streets are named from words and characters of the uber-famous Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling.
The neighborhood is called "Potter Loop" and it has three streets named: "Diagon Lane" after the famous Diagon Alley where the wizards can find anything and everything they need, "Muggle Lane" after the non-wizardly community and "Hermione Lane" after Harry's best friend and one of the brightest witches born to muggle parents.
The neighborhood has 200 homes, two large parks and is a subdivision in Missoula.
Its original name is Windsor Park but people informally refer to it as "Potterville", according to the Zillow Blog.
Developers of the neighborhood came up with the fancy idea of naming the streets after Harry Potter characters about ten years ago. The Zillow Blog reports that they held an informal contest among J.K Rowling readers in the office and received many creative names for the streets.
But, while installing the signs on the streets, the developers misspelled "Hermione" as "Hermoine," which according to some residents, took away the whole essence of the concept.
"I think it would detract from what they're trying to do," Barbara Theroux, manager of Missoula's Fact & Fiction bookstore who also happens to be a Potter fan, told The Missoulian.
The developers confessed that the spelling error was their fault but argued that the goof-up could help boost the essence altogether. The error would mislead Voldemort's death eaters in their search for Potter and his friends and that way, the concept of "evading enemies," which is just so "Harry Potter" would remain intact.
According to Buzzfeed, several tourists have already started flocking to click pictures near the street signs.
"We definitely see people stopping to look at the street signs, and we have people come knock on our doors, asking if we'll take their photo," a resident told the website.
"It was a new neighborhood with a good school district, and when we started building our house - I'll be honest - we hadn't even looked at the names. Now it's a fun little neighborhood with homes that we love. There's a lot of us here who all kind of laugh about it and just smile," the resident added.
The neighborhood is planning on throwing a birthday bash for Harry Poter once development is complete by next year.
Meanwhile, a full-size, real-life Diagon Alley has opened at the Universal Studios in Florida. It was featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where Higgins and Fallon go wand-shopping. Check out some footage here.
