Weight-Loss Expert Jenny Craig Lists Del Mar Residence for $35 Million

Jenny Craig, the fitness-nutrition guru and author, has reportedly listed her ocean-front house in Del Mar, Calif., for $35 million.

The Realtor Blog broke the news of the listing stating that Eric Iantorno of Pacific Sotheby's International Realty is representing the residence.

According to the Real Estalker (via Variety) Craig and her now-deceased husband have owned the humongous beach-front mansion since 1986. Apparently, they purchased the place for just $3.25 million. The listing also notes that the house is being offered for the first time in 30 years.

The residence spans an area of 8,000 square feet and is comprised of five bedrooms and seven bedrooms. The home offers 81 feet of uninterrupted sandy beach footage.

For a home that was built in the nineties, this residence is a modern retreat. Craig and her husband have updated the house to now include the most modern features.

Interiors of the house boast of beamed ceilings, glass doors and windows and mixed flooring.

The two-story residence has a formal living area, a dining space, a family room, bonus room, a sun room, a wine cellar and a modern kitchen with a breakfast nook. The master suite has huge closets and a sauna as well.

Outside, the home has a large Olympic pool, an attached parking garage and open patios that allow for ample lounging space.

The listing calls the property a "very special piece of Del Mar history" adding that such "once in a lifetime opportunities rarely present themselves."

In 2012, Craig sold her Rancho, Santa Fe, mansion to her daughter for $6.1 million. She also had a horse ranch "Rancho Paseano" in the area which was closed down and then listed for $30 million. The ranch hasn't been sold yet and was last listed for $25 million.

Speaking to children and adults at her July book launch in Rancho, Craig said she started riding at the age of 10.

"I was 10, but back then, we couldn't afford a horse because I grew up right after the Great Depression," she said.
