Ed Begley Jr., the "Whatever Works" actor and environment activist, has reportedly sold his home in Studio City, Los Angeles, for $1.02 million.
The Los Angeles Times broke the news of the sale, noting that Tim and Cynthia Begley of Berkshire Hathaway Properties represented the actor in the deal. Miguel Pinon Blanco of the same brokerage represented the buyer in the deal.
Begley listed the home sometime in April, this year, for $960,000. The buyers ended up paying $65,000 above the asking price. Not only did the "St. Elsewhere" actor get more than his asking, but also made a neat profit as he purchased the house for $275,000 in 1988.
Begley's house is an eco-friendly 1,586-square-foot home, comprising of two bedrooms and one and half bathrooms. It was featured on the reality show "Living with Ed."
The house has 5 kW of solar electricity on the main home and 1 kW of sun tracking solar panels at the attached unit in the backyard.
Interiors of the house feature paneled hardwood flooring, beamed ceilings and French doors and windows.
Living spaces include formal living and dining spaces, a family room, a study/office and a media room as well.
The home also has a "fruit orchard, drought-tolerant plantings, raised garden bed for vegetables & fruits," according to the listing.

Begley sold because he was embarking on a new project - to build the "greenest home of America" in Studio City. The new 3,800-square-foot home is going to be built of tin. It will have all possible green amenities and will be a LEED-platinum certified home when completed.
Begley has been an environment activist for more than a decade now.
"I hope that people are paying attention about climate change. This is one you don't want to sit out. We're all going to be affected by it, and if we don't start doing something now, things are going to be very bad for all of us," Begley said in a previous interview with the LA Times.
