An Aspen, Colo., house that once belonged to John Denver - the famous "Sweet Surrender" singer/songwriter - has hit the market for $10.75 million.
This is the same house that Denver immortalized in his hit song "Starwood in Aspen".
"It's a long way home to Starwood in Aspen. A sweet Rocky Mountain paradise," lyrics of the song went.
"I think on my home in Starwood in Aspen. All my friends and the snow covered hills."
Denver's home is located in the Starwood sub-division of Aspen. It was his primary residence until his death in 1997. The "Take Me Home, Country Roads" hitmaker died in a plane crash while on his way to his house on Monterey Peninsula.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Denver lived in the Aspen home with his wife Anne and renovated it over the years. Shortly after his death, the house was sold by Carol Dopkin of Sotheby's International Realty, who also happens to be a friend of the Denver family, for $3.68 million.
The current owners used the property as a vacation home. They are selling now because their children are grown and the family isn't using the home as much, the Journal cited Dopkin.
The property spans an area of 7.61 acres and has two buildings - a main house and a guest cottage.
The main residence offers more than 6,000 square feet of living space with six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. Boasting of sumptuous wooden interiors - high ceilings, flooring - and large glass windows that give ample shots of the snow-clad mountains, the residence is a luxury retreat.
The guest house, which has a separate entry-way, has five bedrooms and sits right adjacent to the main house connected via a walking path.
The property has a built-in barbecue, a pool, a spa and ample greens to relax in the lap of nature.

In his time, Denver was one of the top five selling artists in the music industry. He has 14 gold and eight platinum records to his credit. He even appeared on the silver screen making his debut in "Oh, God" and also appearing on the Christmas show "Muppets."
