The first season of "Quantico" just aired its winter finale before taking the mid-season break last Sunday, Dec. 13. While the show revealed who the terrorist is, it sure left fans with more loose ends. That would keep the viewers anticipating the show's comeback next year then.
In "Quantico" Season 1 Episode 11, it was revealed the Elias is a terrorist and he admitted into kidnapping Alex, after which he jumped off the window of the hotel. The FBI figured out that the second bomb was planted in the boiler room of the hotel. It was defused with few seconds left, but it turned out to be just a decoy and the third bomb goes off under the bank which was turned into the bureau's command center.
In an interview with TV Line, "Quantico" executive producer Joshua Safran confirmed the death of Elias. He shared, "I had to cut the shot of his body on the ground... because we felt like it was fairly clear that they are high up, and he is dead."
But while Elias was revealed as a terrorist, the question now is whether he was part of larger group or not. Safran said that "is going to form sort of an arc of episodes moving forward."
He added, "But he still did enact at least part of a plan - if not the plan that ended up killing many, many people. So you have definitely learned the identity of a terrorist. The question of whether he's the only one remains to be seen, and it comes down to whether you believe what Elias was saying in the hotel room as the truth, or if you believe it was purely him biding time to get everybody in place in the emergency command center."
Fans may also know who didn't make it out after the bombing when the show returns after the break, along with some possible revelations. For one, Shelby and Senator Haas were in the bank when the bank detonated.
Meanwhile, The Wrap has reported that "Quantico" has reached seven-week highs during the mid-season finale as per Nielsen's live plus same day ratings.
"Quantico" will be back on March 6, 2016.
