Two of the world's best, took one of the best loved works of author Roald Dahl.
Steven Spielberg, director of a 1982 classic E.T. (Extra Terrestrial), teamed up with Walt Disney to produce another brand new classic, The BFG (Big Friendly Giant).
Roald Dahl who also wrote the now famous Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was turned into aBroadway musical, also wrote Matilda, The Witches, James and the Giant Peach and The Twits. He has quite a lot of fans all around the world, endearing children young and old with his stories full of thrills, enchantment, and good values.
The BFG is derived from one of his classic novel, which follows an imaginative story of young girl and a 24 foot giant. Sophie (newcomer, Ruby Barnhill) was taken away into the giant country where she was kept in a cave. She was frightened at first but then later found out how gentle and amiable the big giant was. She saw him as unlike any other giants she saw there. She was also taken to dream country and learned how dreams are made. Amidst the magic and mystery, together, she and the giant have to overcome obstacles in their adventure together.
According to The Guardian, The Big Friendly Giant will be played by Mark Rylance, a three time Tony award winner who also appeared in Bridge of Spies and The Other Boleyn Girl. Other actors co-starring in the film are, Penelope Hall, Bill Hader, Rebecca hall and Germaine Clement.
