Bindi Irwin has formed a close relationship with her "Dancing with the Stars" partner, Derek Hough, but not enough for it to be labeled as romantic. That's what she said when she cleared the rumors that she and Hough are now more than friends.
Irwin shot down claims that she and Hough are now dating, which was first reported by New Idea. The website claims that the 17-year-old Australian has now gone public with her romance with her dancing partner. The report went on to say that they've confirmed their shocking new relationship after Bindi reportedly can't control her special feelings anymore for Hough. To make the scenario worse, the report alleged that she split with her longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell for the 30-year-old ballroom dancer.
"It's completely untrue.Chandler is still Bindi's boyfriend and Derek is very much a friend who left Australia last week to head home after spending a couple of days checking out Australia Zoo," a spokesman for Irwin said.
Just weeks after winning mirror ball trophy in "Dancing With the Stars," Hough flew to Australia to spend some time with Irwin at the Australian Zoo. They updated their social media sites with their photos that reportedly led Powell to get jealous, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.
The gossip site alleged that the two's chemistry and body language were just obvious that they could not hide it in their pictures. The rumors stepped up a gear as it was said that they were crazy about each other.
"Derek and Bindi have grown incredibly close these past few months,' a New Idea source claimed. It's gone way beyond a professional relationship, and it's no exaggeration to say Bindi is mesmerized by him," the report said.
As far as Irwin is concerned though, she wrote on her social media post that Hough will always be her big brother.
