The last episode of "Rick and Morty's" second season was aired last Oct. 2015. While the dysfunctional family space cartoon is still hinting events of its third season, Yibada reports that the beloved characters of "Rick and Morty" will be tackling the past which includes the "Dog World."
"Rick and Morty" spoilers revealed that season 3 will revisit some of Dan Harmon's earlier works, possibly including a return to the Dog World," according to the outlet.
The creators of the series aim to bring back this old theme that includes the "Dog World" is to not lose an old favorite that the viewers have loved to watched in the past.
"Now, we can fade in on Blips and Chitz because we've already proven that the show isn't going to start eating itself, and that will feel even more limitless if we go back to a couple things that we really enjoyed doing," Harmon shared in the article.
Meanwhile, the "Dog World" storyline for "Rick and Morty" is actually speculated to even run in the premiere of the third season of the series. Looking back, the "Dog World" storyline of the series is mainly about a planet run by dogs in which humans are the ones cared for as pets.
Master Herald explored more on the "Dog World" aspect of the series and wrote that "Dog World" is the story of Peter Michaels, his brother Edmund, and younger sister Sally, who all got sucked into a wormhole during a camping trip. They ended up in a world populated by talking anamorphic dog people who keep animal-like humans as pets."
Although there is no formal announcement regarding the premiere of the third season of "Rick and Morty," Master Herald reports that Adult Swim network is speculated to air season 3 of "Rick and Morty" on March 5, 2017.
