The Upper East Side penthouse in New York City, which has been touted as Blair Waldorf's home in the hit series "Gossip Girl", has reportedly gone under contract.
Curbed broke news of the home going under escrow. The residence at 1136, Fifth Avenue has been used in the series to denote the Waldorf's Penthouse. However, the interiors of the house in the show were filmed elsewhere. The Fifth Avenue building did make an appearance on the establishing shots of the series though.
Stephen Cooper, chief executive of Warner Music Group, is the original owner of the house who bought it for $20 million in 2008. It is being marketed by Anne Young of Brown Harris Stevens Group. It was listed for $30 million earlier this year. There is however, no news on who the buyer is or the price it closed for.
Located in the Carnegie Hill cooperative, the penthouse is a duplex residence comprising of four bedrooms and five full and one half bathroom.
As per the floor plan, an elevator opens into the entry foyer. To the left of the foyer is a grand living area. There is a sitting room and the master bedroom - each with its own dressing rooms.
To the right of the foyer, there is a dining room, a study and an eat-in modern kitchen. There is a laundry too. The floor has an open pergola and wrap around terrace. The lower level has three other bedrooms, a media room and a gym.
Interiors of the home feature high drywall ceilings, hardwood flooring and large floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
The listing describes it as an "iconic and impeccable Fifth Avenue penthouse" that "boasts extraordinary views of the Central Park reservoir and West Side skyline in addition to spectacular open city views to the south and east. A sizable and gracious wrap terrace surrounds the entertaining floor of this important duplex."
While one piece of Gossip Girl just got a new owner, some of the members of the star cast have been dabbling in real estate too. Blake Lively, who played Serena van der Woodsen, married "Green Lantern" co-star Ryan Reynolds and the genetically-blessed couple decamped to a country spread in New York just next to Martha Stewart's residence earlier this year.
Also, Kelly Rutherford, who played Lily van der Woodsen in the series, sold her West Hollywood home last year for $980,000.
