Donald trump, the famous property mogul, is reportedly planning on launching his signature Trump Towers in Mumbai - the commercial capital of India.
The Trump Organization announced Tuesday that it has plans of commissioning a 75-floor, 800-foot gleaming tower in Mumbai and hopes on cashing in on the booming real estate market of the country.
"It has been my desire for many years to be involved in a great project in Mumbai, and it is my honor to bring the Trump lifestyles to the citizens of this truly global metropolis with the launch of Trump Tower Mumbai," Trump, chairman and president of The Trump Organization, said in a statement.
The Trump Organization is teaming up with the Lodha Group, a leading Indian real estate firm that has several international properties to its credit, to embark on the project.
"Mumbai is today a global megapolis and centre for capital, talent and industry. It is only fitting that we bring one of the biggest names in luxury living to our home market with Trump Tower Mumbai," Abhishek Lodha, managing director of the Lodha Group, said in the statement.
Trump has reportedly roped in Singaporean architecture firm - WOHA - to design the iconic structure, according to Dezeen. Renderings of the tower show a gleaming façade inspired by crystal glass. The residential structure will offer 3 to 4-bedroom luxury apartments.
Interiors will be done up by HBA Singapore, one of the leading hospitality design firms in the country, and will include indoor Jacuzzis, built-in TVs, gourmet kitchen and more.
Residents of the Trump Tower will have access to various amenities like 24/7 white-glove services - a resident manager and concierge facilities - and an exclusive private-jet access too.
While the organizations did not reveal any financial details of the project, they noted that the building would redefine Mumbai's skyline.
This is not the first Indian project for Trump. A 22-storey trump Towers is already under construction in Pune - project "the Donald", partnered with Panchshil Realty, according to Fortune Magazine.
Donald trump is reportedly planning on making "substantial investments" in the Indian property market, betting on India's buoyant property market and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts.
"People are coming into India now that maybe would not have prior to the election. We will make investments in India, substantial investments in India. It's a great place to invest," Trump was quoted by CNBC.
"I don't know that I would have made that statement three, four, five years ago. It was different."
