Speculations reveal that the film will focus on Gol.D Roger. More details of the upcoming movie will be released in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine 2016 issue. It is also said that the upcoming film will probably be based on the two previous "One Piece" films adapted from Eiichiro Oda's manga, the "Strong World" and "Z."

"One Piece Film: GOLD," which is the 13th theatrical release of the movie series "One Piece," will be directed by Hiraoki Miyamoto with Eiichiro Oda, as the executive producer. Miyamoto will direct the film based on the screenplay by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who recently worked on the live action "Black Butler" film and the "The Perfect Insider."

Pre-sale of tickets will start on Dec. 18. Those who will purchase the ticket in advance will also get a clear file with a "Kintarō Luffy" character design. "The kanji for "kin" in Kintarō means "gold," and the kanji on Luffy's clothing also say "kin" for gold," Anime News Network wrote.

Meanwhile, a new unnamed character is teased to appear in the film that is described as a mysterious man drawn by Eiichiro Oda. With that, Oda's character is said to "delight fans looking for his particular style and brand to be apparent in it," Fandom Post noted.

Reports reveal that new visuals of the film shows that there is very little “gold” in it like the series which appears weird because the characters of the story are pirates and treasure hunters.

It is also revealed that a "One Piece" special short video will be screened prior to the airing of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" film to be released on Dec. 18. The release of "One Piece Film: GOLD" on Western Cinemas is not yet revealed.
