Game developer Psyonix has announced on Tuesday that its popular video game "Rocket League" will be receiving a new update called the "Winter Games Event." The company will roll out a hockey mode, a new Mutator and other winter-themed items for a limited time, a report from Gamespot said.
"Known as Snow Day, the hockey-esque mutator mode is played in an ice-themed arena with a puck in place of the standard ball. This can be played in a new, dedicated online playlist, which replaces the existing Mutator Mashup playlist. Whether or not you're interested in Snow Day, there are new items available in the game for a limited time. By playing matches between now and January 4, you'll have the chance to unlock seven different Christmas-themed cosmetics," the report said.
Listed below are the winter-themed items that were added in "Rocket League," according to the report.
- ""Xmas" Rocket Trail
- "Blitzen" Topper
- "Christmas Tree" Topper
- "Sad Sapling" Topper
- "Santa" Topper
- "Candy Cane" Antenna
- "Holiday Gift" Antenna
It can be recalled that aside from all these items included in the recent update, Psyonix's VP of Marketing Jeremy Dunham previously announced via PlayStation Blog that "Rocket League" will be receiving a new DLC titled "Chaos Run." The game's new DLC was released earlier this month and was sold for only $3.99.
However, it was noted that players are not required to buy the game's DLC which includes the "Chaos Run" pack for them to play "Snow Day." It was said that "mutators were added in a free update in November that allow aspects of the game to be changed."
"Developer Psyonix has revealed that its popular multiplayer game Rocket League will be launching on the Xbox One. The announcement was made during The Game Awards earlier today. The game is scheduled to launch in February 2016 with new Gears of War and Halo-themed cars," Gamespot said.
