The humongous 2,000-acre estate in Upperville, Va., that belonged to Bunny Mellon - the famous horticulturist who passed away at the age of 103 earlier this year - has been put up for sale by her estate executor for $70 million.
The place is selling for a whopping $35,000 per square feet.
The Wall Street Journal was the first to break the news of the home's listing, noting that Thomas B. Anderson of Washington Fine Properties is marketing the estate.
"Washington Fine Properties is extremely honored to have been chosen to represent Mrs. Mellon's beloved farm," Tom Anderson was quoted by The Georgetown Dish. "For over 65 years, the mystique of the farm has captured attention worldwide."
Alex Forger, the executor of the estate who also happens to be a family friend, told The Journal that the estate felt like "its own little village". Apparently, the home has hosted several high-profile guests including Jacqueline Kennedy.
The expansive property has 40 structures that include two stables (where Mellon bred racehorses), an air strip for private landing, a functional dairy, several equestrian stalls and rolling pastures. The property also has the Kentucky Derby winner "Sea Hero" statue and a 10,000-square-foot house is also being offered for sale.
The listing description of the estate says it all:
"First time offering of Oak Spring Farm, Paul & Bunny Mellon's 2000 acre Upperville estate. One of most beautiful properties in all of America with rolling pastures & mountain views. Home to Kentucky Derby winner, Sea Hero. Private Air Strip. 2 stables with 43 stalls. 3 primary residences, 20+ cottages, multiple barns, shops, extraordinary gardens & greenhouses."

Mellon's primary residence is not included in the listing. The residence and an additional 100 acres will be donated to the Gerard B. Lambert Foundation, a charitable entity that was founded by Mellon in the memory of her father.
According to the Business Journal, Mellon's property was much larger than the current 2,000 acres. She apparently opted to withhold 100 separate acres of the estate to accommodate her greenhouse and botanical library, which would be used for training and educational purposes.
Early last year, Bunny Mellon sold her Osterville home to billionaire Bill Koch for $19.5 million. An Antigua property she owned is also up for sale for $11.9 million, currently listed with Christie's International Real Estate. She also owned homes in Washington, Paris, New York and Nantucket Island.

Correction: An earlier version of the article noted that a 10,000-square-foot mansion was not included in the listing.
