After the intense mid-season finale of "Bones" Season 11, showrunners hinted what fans can expect when the show returns next year.
In the mid-season finale, both James Aubrey (John Boyd) and Dr. Jack Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) were hurt with the latter ended up being paralyzed for the rest of his life. According to Vine Report, showrunner John Collier revealed in an interview that they did not intend to kill the characters in the show, and this will also be about how Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins will struggle as a couple given the latter's new condition.
Collier added that they wanted to test the couple's relationship, and they thought that this would be a good way to do it. He revealed that it will be difficult for the couple, and he believes that despite that, they will find a way through it. Collier also revealed that there will also be challenges for the other couple of the show as Booth (David Boreanaz) and Bones (Emily Deschanel) will face an external force which could threaten their marriage.
Meanwhile, Christian Post reports that executive producer Michael Peterson also revealed in an interview what the fans can expect when the show returns in spring of 2016. He said that people around him is worried about him because he is writing a darker story for the show.
He revealed that they are planning to add a twisted serial killer on the show and that they are also doing an episode which is close to a horror theme. He warned fans that this particular episode is going to be scary and it may not be safe to watch it alone. The EP revealed that it may be the scariest episode that they have done, so fans should better watch out for it when the show returns next year.
"Bones" Season 11 will return sometime in March or April 2016.
