‘The Expendables 4’ Movie Updates: Sylvester Stallone to Address Dissatisfying Performance of 'Expendables 3' in New Film

"The Expendables 4" will start filming early next year, and Sylvester Stallone is determined to avert the earlier mistakes in "The Expendables 3" which resulted in its poor performance in the box office. Iconic action superstar Stallone promised that the fourth installment of "The Expendables" franchise will definitely surpass the previous three films.

Movie News Guide reports that a budget of $100 million is already settled for the film and the movie production will start in early 2016, paving way for a possible 2017 release. As expected, new characters will be featured in "The Expendables," 4 with Dwayne Johnson and Jackie Chan rumored to be on top of the list.

However, Chan has already rejected the offer. On the contrary, WWE Legend Hulk Hogan is already confirmed to be the "world's most evil" villain in the fourth installment of the franchise. He had already confirmed his character in May at the Body Power Expo in United Kingdom.

Several big names in the movie and sports industry are also rumored to be part of "The Expendables 4." Crossmap mentioned boxing champ Manny Pacquiao and Pierce Brosnan as potential new characters in the film.

The location for the production of the movie was also discussedd by the movies' executive producer Steven Paul. Nu Image and Millenium films are already looking into China for the production and filming of "The Expendables 4." According to Paul, the earlier installments of "The Expendables" had a huge following from China, prompting the outfit to shoot the latest film there.

Although other new cast members in the film are not yet confirmed except for Hulk Hogan, Stallone is very optimistic that "The Expendables 4" will top the performance of all the three earlier films in the franchise when it comes to box office performance. With a possible setting in China, the movie is scheduled to be filmed around January 2016 and will be released in cinemas in 2017.
