NBA Trade Rumors: Miami Heat to Acquire Either Dwight Howard or DeMarcus Cousins

Sooner or later many teams in the NBA would press their panic button and try to outplay and outbid other teams in order to get a spot in the playoffs, and hopefully in the finals. One of the team that is struggling for consistency this season is the Miami Heat. That is why rumors are now spreading linking the Heat to a possible huge trade deal. With the likes of Pat Riley in the management, big deals would always be a part of the Heat's winning strategy.

Though the Heat is seen as a possible contender this season in the Eastern Conference, they would still be less of a challenge for the defending champion, Golden State Warriors. Plus they would also have to deal with some future free agency scenarios that might affect their roster big time. That is why the Heat is now being rumored preparing some trade deal with the Sacramento Kings for DeMarcus Cousins.

 According to palmbeachpos, "the reported deal for DeMarcus Cousins would include Hassan Whiteside returning to the place he began his career. It would also include rookie Justise Winslow and other players to make the deal work salary-wise." On other side of the story, the Heat is also being speculated to acquire Dwight Howard if Cousins deal will not flourish. Sheridan Hoops stated via Hothothoops that;

"Dwight Howard is extremely unhappy in Houston playing second fiddle to alpha dog James Harden, multiple league sources tell SheridanHoops.com. And with the Rockets underachieving more than any NBA team, look for them to try to move Howard later this season. And the destination that makes the most sense is Miami in a trade centered around Hassan Whiteside."

If such rumors are true, then Howard would surely be a huge impact in Miami's frontcourt together with Chris Bosh. And perhaps, Heat would be the team that could give Howard his wish, which is to win a championship. But still things would remain under the cloud of speculations unless some significant facts and updates would shine its light on the subject matter. Guess we would just have to wait and see how this rumor would come to be.
