Rumor has it that the Cupertino-based tech company Apple Inc. is gearing up to release its new tablet, the iPad Air 3. The news comes after several reports pointed out that iPad Air 2's price has been dropped and was on sale since Cyber Monday, a report from Yibada said.
"After consumers battled it out for the door buster Black Friday sale, the generous discounts is still ongoing for the highly anticipated Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday is an event that originated as a home shopping event. Amazing deals and discounts are available solely online. This year, iPads received generous discounts from various retailers and Apple itself that hinted the imminent release of a new device. Low prices of the current devices signal the release of the new generation," the report said.
iDigital Times has reached the similar conclusion and said that the iPad Air 3 will be publicly revealed during Apple's corporate event, which is held annually in March.
"The price of the iPad Air 3 will likely remain the same as the price of the iPad Air 2, which currently retails for $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for a 64GB model and $699 for the 128GB model. Adding a cellular connection to the iPad Air 2 will cost an extra $130. This means that the iPad Air 2 will take over the current price point the iPad Air currently occupies, with a more limited selection in terms of color and storage as well," the report said.
Meanwhile, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple's iPad Air 3 will be released next year alongside the new Apple Watch 2 and the rumored iPhone 6c. He said that it is expected that the tablet will be compatible with the new Apple accessories like the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. In terms of its specs, a powerful chip, a higher memory, a faster processor will be provided as the new internal components of the tablet.
