Liam Hemsworth Buys Malibu Estate for $6.8 Million

Liam Hemsworth, the "Hunger Games" actor, has reportedly purchased a home in Malibu's Point Dume area for $6.8 million.

The Real Estalker (via Variety) broke news of the sale noting that the 7.5-acre estate's seller was "Break My Stride" singer Matthew Wilder.

Wilder reportedly listed the estate in late 2013 for $6.85 million. Located just north of Santa Monica, large gates open into the estate. One would have to travel the long driveway, which apparently crosses creeks, to reach the main house.

The main residence isn't very big. Spanning an area of 1,980-square-feet, the home comprises of three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Pictures show plush, roomy interiors with high wood-beamed ceilings, paneled hardwood flooring and large glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Encompassed in a modern floor plan is a living room, dining area, a gourmet kitchen, sitting rooms and spacious bedrooms.

The exteriors are as cheerful as the insides. There are open decks and patios. There is a pool and ample lounging area around. Other features include a detached writing studio, a separate recording studio and a gallery or barn.

News of the purchase comes almost a year after Hemsworth broke up with popstar Miley Cyrus. The couple used to share a home in Toluca Lake but soon after the split was announced, a moving truck was spotted at the house that probably took away all of Liam's stuff.

At that time, several tabloids reported that Hemsworth was planning on returning to Australia for a while. But that didn't happen.

While the younger Hemsworth just purchased a plush property, older brother Chris Hemsworth - of "Thor" fame - picked up actor Paul Hogan's Malibu property last year for $4.8 million. The brothers must be besotted with Malibu!

In more "Hunger Games" real estate news, Josh Hutcherson also recently purchased a home in Studio City for $1.25 million. Earlier this year, Jennifer Lawrence and now ex Nicholas Hoult purchased a London property together.
