Mariah Carey, the "Without You" hitmaker and husband Nick Cannon have reportedly been living in different houses, the "America's Got Talent" host confirmed Thursday.
In an interview on "Insider With Yahoo" Cannon opened up about his troubled marriage with Carey saying:
"We have been living in separate houses for a few months," Cannon said.
"(Right now) my main focus is my kids," he added.
Though Cannon confirmed the separation, he didn't reveal any more details. Apparently, Carey has restricted him from talking about their divorce in public and has warned that if he did, it would cost him a fortune.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple has been working out a divorce deal for the past few months and wants to keep it a hush-hush matter. There is absolutely no intel on how their property will be divided.
Even before Cannon said anything about the separation, a source close to Carey told E!Online:
"They have been living apart for a while. This is not all of a sudden. There have been issues between them for a while. They are not getting along. She wants to end it and it has been in the works for months, which is why her house in the Bahamas and the house in Bel Air are on the market."
Carey and Cannon bought their Bel Air house for $7 million in 2009.
They first put their palatial pad up for sale with a $12.99 million price tag early in February. However, they delisted the place within four days, possibly due to publicity overload. The home came back on the market with the same asking price in March, but with a different listing agent - Paul Czako of Gussman Czako Estates.
Sometime in July, it was reported that Carey and Cannon had found a buyer who agreed to pay a little over $10 million for the opulent residence. But the buyer bailed out on the deal and the home is back on the market again.
Listing records state that the home is a 13,000-square-feet, single-family, three-level residence. The multi-winged home has six bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms. The house also has a swimming pool that has the couple's initials "MCN" etched on the floor and a basketball court too.

Carey and Cannon also own a home in Windermere, Fla., and a triplex in New York City where the "Touch My Body" singer is now living with the kids. Cannon is spending most of his time in Los Angeles in the meantime.
The couple is calling it quits after six years of marriage and two kids.
