Katie Holmes, the "Batman Begins" actress and her daughter with actor Tom Cruise - Suri, have reportedly moved to the upscale Calabasas neighborhood buying a $3.79 million mansion in the area.
TMZ broke news of the move adding that the whole transaction was a super secret deal. Holmes made everyone sign a confidentiality agreement which stated that anyone who violated it would be fined a massive $1 million in penalty.
The mother-daughter duo will be moving into a beautiful 6,200-square-foot mansion that has six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.
Interiors of the house show dark hardwood floors, French doors and windows and an open floor plan.
The duplex residence has a formal living room, a modern, eat-in kitchen and separate dining areas as well.
There is a spacious study and the master suite has a soaking tub in its en-suite bathroom.
Outside, the house has a huge pool, a fire pit, a covered patio and a basket ball court too.
News of the purchase comes just weeks after it was reported that Holmes was checking out a plush penthouse condo in New York City. However, her financial advisors told her that the $6.75 million condo was out of her budget. Now, for half that price, she has got a better abode. More photos right here.
Holmes and Suri were living in the Big Apple's Chelsea neighborhood where the "Dawson's Creek" actress was shelling out $12,500 a month for a home.
According to the TMZ, Holmes moved because she thought Calabasas is a good neighborhood to bring Suri up and also because she wants to focus on her career as well. In a recent interview with DuJour Magazine that she was living a normal life in New York City and her acting lull was not because of Tom Cruise.
"You have dry spells and then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity," Holmes said in the interview.
"Even early on, when I was a young actor and all of a sudden people knew who I was, my dad told me, "Don't let that change how you live your life"," she added. Holmes also said that she tries to live her life in a way that makes her happy.
