The former Chicago home of Dwayne Wade, the Miami Heat guard, is reportedly facing foreclosure, according to several news reports.
Wade shared the South Holland residence with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade and their children until 2007, when the couple split. Siohvaughn received the mansion and four cars in their $5 million divorce settlement, while he got custody of the kids.
Wade had been paying off the mortgage on the residence but after their settlement, Siovaughn took over the payments. She had often claimed that she was forced to "homelessness" because of Wade's failure to pay the promised $25,000 spousal support.
Commenting on Siovaughn's accusation, Wade's attorney James Pritkin previously said they were all false.
"Despite false allegations by Ms. Funches claiming to be 'homeless' and 'destitute,' Dwyane Wade has maintained over the years financial support to his ex-wife by providing her with income over $25,000 on a monthly basis, timely paid for her home mortgage, maintenance and security at the house, 4 cars, insurance, taxes and all of her attorney fees throughout this process," Pritkin was quoted by the Sun Times in 2013.
The bank reportedly sent a foreclosure notice to the home Aug. 11 and now, Wade's attorneys argues that he has no responsibility of the home whatsoever, TMZ reports.
The home in question here is a 7,847-square-foot single-family house, comprising of six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It is currently on the market for $1.2 million. It has a pool and guesthouse and according to the listing, some custom furniture may also be available for sale.
Tonya Corder of Century 21 Affiliated is representing the home.
Meanwhile, Wade is all set to tie the knot again with his fiancé Gabrielle Union. But, some new court documents unveiled by RadarOnline may mess it all up for Wade.
The website found some documents which quoted Siovaughn saying Wade was a heartless cheat who hit and abused her and also infected her with an STD!
"I had known that Dwyane Wade had a temper and could become violent at times," Siovaughn was quoted saying in some court documents.
"...but when we moved out of my mother's home ... into our own apartment with our infant son, the violence increased. This, however, was just the surface of the domestic violence Dwayne Wade would inflict upon me," she added.
