The new UFC women's bantamweight champion, Holly Holm, is going to make $7 million for a rematch with Ronda Rousey. The 34-year-old fighter has tainted the perfect record of Rousey at UFC193 in Melbourne in November, and a talk immediately emerged as to when the pair would face again in the octagon.
According to the report of the New York Post news, the UFC has set a fight schedule on July 9 at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, which would be the most anticipated fight of 2016. UFC broadcaster Joe Rogan had spoken on his podcast that it would be the biggest payday for Holm.
"Financially, the Holly Holm fight with Ronda is the biggest fight for Holly Holm. Holly Holm's going to make like $7 million," Rogan said.
While the public and the UFC are dreaming to see a rematch between the two, Holm showed interest in fighting before July against former Strikeforce champion, Miesha Tate.
But the fight in which Holm hoped for before Rousey was set aside by UFC president Dana White, saying "It's Rousey," when asked who would be the next opponent for Holm.
Holly Holm stands to make a huge payout when UFC sets a fight schedule for UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas, in a much anticipated rematch fight with Ronda Rousey. Holm savagely beat and brutalized Rousey with shots from all angles and with her great footwork. Holm also threw a final kick that slept Rousey in the second round at UFC 193, as reported by BJ Penn news.
Holm doesn't want to wait and wants to stay active, which is her prerogative to choose as a champion. That is a smart move for Holm because she's going to make big money.
While the UFC brass isn't interested in prolonging a Tate vs Holm fight, perhaps they do it to secure UFC 200 that will bring a huge pay day for the organization, in the biggest rematch in history.
