Prince William Misses Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas Lunch To Attend A Funeral Service

Queen Elizabeth holds annual Christmas gatherings for her family and while every year, Prince William is able to grace events with his royal presence, this year was an exception. The Duke of Cambridge was absent during the said event. Only the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, Prince George and Prince Harry were seen arriving at the Buckingham Palace entrance, a report from E! Online said.

According to a source, "The Duke had a personal commitment today and could not be at the lunch as planned."

Prince William had to attend the memorial service of the father of a close friend of the royal family. He had to be at St. Michael's Church in Wiltshire to honor John Pelly, the father of Guy Pelly, Prince William and Prince Harry's close friend.

On the other hand, the Duchess and Prince George were photographed as they entered the palace along with Prince Harry. The three seemed to be in good holiday mood as they arrived and even as the cameras took photos of them as they entered the palace gates.

Kate was seen wearing a lovely cherry coat, a color perfect for the holidays. She also wore festive nail art which seems to look like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Prince George also looked his best and was photographed inside the car.

Other royal guests who were seen entering the palace were the Prince of Wales, Princess Eugenie and former England rugby player Mike Tindall.

Meanwhile, Kate and William were interviewed by The Big Issue magazine and the two revealed their plans for Christmas for Prince George. The couple is preparing for a wonderful holiday for the little prince considering that this is the first time that he gets to understand what's it all about.

"George will be bouncing around like a rabbit," the Duke said. "If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve, it'll be good."
