Randy Johnson, the now-retired baseball legend who has defeated every Major League player at least once in his 22 season-long-career, has reportedly listed his home in Paradise Valley, Ariz., for $25 million.
The home is being represented by Robert Joffe and Jonathan Friedland of the Berkshire Hathaway's Joffe Group.
"A couple of their kids have gone to school so they're going to start to downsize," Joffe explained of the listing to Forbes. The home will officially hit the MLS this coming Monday.
Although Johnson is downsizing, he isn't going too far. According to AZCentral, the "Big Unit" and his wife have already purchased an 8,067-square-foot home in north Scottsdale's Silverleaf neighborhood for $3.9 million.
Property records show that the Paradise Valley home last sold in 2003 for $2.7 million. The residence is a huge 21,711-square-foot Tuscan residence, comprising of seven bedrooms and twelve bathrooms. Sitting at the foot of the Mummy Mountains, the residence is an epitome of luxury living.
The home was built in 2006 and designed by architect Erik Peterson.
"This is a very thoughtfully designed estate," Joffe told the Zillow Blog.
"The layout works and feels comfortable, without being overwhelming. The craftsmanship is impeccable, and the finish materials are some of the finest I've ever seen," he added.
Indeed, the interiors boast of high ceilings, mixed tone, hardwood and marble flooring with arched hallways and French doors.
Living spaces include formal drawing and dining areas, a modern kitchen with state-of-art appliances and custom storage. There is a temperature-controlled wine cellar, a full-fledged theater, a game room, a recording studio and music room.
The master bedroom has separate his and her vanities, an en-suite master bath and a private patio that gives direct access to the manicured gardens outside.
The exteriors include a resort-type pool and spa, a separate two-bedroom guest house and a 1,400-square-foot workout facility. The home also gives access to the adjacent tennis court.
The home's webpage describes it as:
"Centrally located in the heart of Paradise Valley, at the base of Mummy Mountain, this stunning property is positioned high on the hillside to take full advantage of spectacular valley views. This grand manor is so much more than mere words can express. It's specifically for those who desire the finest in life!"
