Eric Davis, the now-retired NFL player, has reportedly listed his home in Santa Cruz county for sale with an asking price of $3.79 million.
The Los Angeles Times broke the news of the listing noting that Sally Lyng of David Lyng and Associates is representing the property.
Public records show that Davis purchased the home in June 2005 for $3.5 million, three years after he ended his career. He was soon hired as a color analyst for the San Francisco 49ers, the team he played six seasons with. Davis was, however, replaced by the 49ers early this year. The team hired Tim Ryan to serve in place of the former cornerback because "logistics" demanded the change, according to Ninerstation.com.
This is not the first time that the home has been offered for sale. It came up on the market in 2009 and 2010 for $5.9 million and $2.9 million, respectively. But, they were removed after a brief period.
The residence in question here is a 6,084-square-foot single-family house, which is comprised of four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The two-storey home sits on a approximately 2.5-acre lot and boasts of Mediterranean architecture.
Interiors of the home feature marble, tile and carpeted flooring along with high wood-beamed ceilings and large glass doors and windows.
The spacious floor plan encompasses formal living and dining rooms, a family room, a modern kitchen with custom cabinetry and a huge mid-rise island.
An office, a library, sitting rooms and a work-out room are also part of the huge house.
The master bedroom has an en-suite, sumptuous master bath and walk-in closets. The master bedroom also has a deck that offers beautiful views of the nearby Monterey Bay and the hills.
The home also offers a detached three-car parking garage and ample possibilities for maintaining horses.
The listing of the home reads:
"Spectacular Mediterranean Estate. Panoramic Monterey Bay and beautiful pastoral views. Very private, gated fenced 2.5 usable acres."
It adds that the house was recently remodeled and "expanded with no expense sparred. This home was designed and customized for a prominent San Francisco sports figure."
