In the mid-season finale of "The Blacklist" Season 3, Agent Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) arrested Liz (Megan Boone), thinking he could protect her, but in the upcoming episode, Red (James Spader) doubts this and resorts to bold measures to ensure her safety.
According to iDigital Times, the upcoming episode of "The Blacklist" Season 3 will focus on the Director (David Strathairn). In an interview by Entertainment Weekly with showrunner Jon Bokencamp, Bokencamp revealed that the next two episodes will show the Director and how he will handle the situation at hand. He revealed that the audience will see a very complex plan that the Director has in mind which he has been brewing since the end of Season 2.
Aside from that, Bokencamp revealed that Liz's life will be in much trouble now that she is held by the FBI, but Ressler doesn't know that. He explained that the Cabal does not want Liz to talk and expose them, so having her stay in the FBI is the perfect way for them to carry out their plan of killing her. With this, Bokencamp said that Red is now doing what he has been planning for in the eight episodes, and he revealed that it is the best time for Red's plan to fall together.
Meanwhile, International Business Times reports that the official synopsis for the next episode of "The Blacklist" Season 3 reveals that Red will need Aram's (Amir Arison) help to ensure Liz's protection. In addition to that, the EP revealed that actress Mozhan Marnò will be returning for the second half of Season 3, and this time she will also help Red with his plans. This is after her character Samar was kicked out by Ressler after he found out that she was helping Red.
"The Blacklist" Season 3 episode 9 will air on NBC on Jan. 7, 2016.
