'Girl Meets World' Season 3 Spoilers: Lucas to End Up With Maya and Not Riley? New Season Dubbed as Season of Friendship & Feelings

The TV series "Girl Meets World" has made a buzz online as the show's plot veered toward a love triangle among Riley, Lucas and Maya. Now an online publication has suggested the possibility that Lucas will choose Maya over Riley, while other reports claim that the triangle will not be resolved quickly.

In the show's latest episode, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) revealed that she is still in love with Lucas (Peyton Meyer). However, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) also has feelings for Lucas, which pits the three of them in a complicated friendship as well as a love triangle. Christian Post has reported that Season 3 will see the girls "enter a new saga in high school," and they will reportedly experience changes in their life, including the romance aspect.

Movie News Guide speculates that Luca will choose Maya over Riley, which will surely leave "Lucaya" fans rejoicing, but what's interesting to see is how Riley will be affected if it does happen. "Rucas" fans' reactions are also something to watch out for if "Girl Meets World" Season 3 does veer toward such course.

However, despite the speculation, Cartermatt has reported that the show's writers have said via a tweet that the third season of the series is so much more than just a love triangle. In a Twitter post, the writers teased that Season 3 will be "a season of friendship" and "a season of feelings." The post also clarified that the love triangle angle will not be resolved quickly, stating, "Minor issues resolve quickly. This won't. Because if you know us, you know we'll do much more than a triangle. This all began in the pilot."

That said, it is safe to assume that the love triangle story will slowly play out in the course of Season 3 of "Girl Meets World." Fans will have to wait and see if Lucas does end up with either Maya or Riley.

"Girl Meets World" Season is reportedly currently being written. It is expected to premiere in spring or early 2016, according to Cartermatt.
