'Asus ZenFone Zoom' News, Specs, Features: 3X Optical Zoom Asus Phone In New Promo Video [VIDEO]

A year after its announcement, the "Asus ZenFone Zoom" has finally been released. If you think that this is yet another standard smartphone with no special features to set it apart from its rivals, then you may be wrong. Unlike your typical smartphone, the "Asus ZenFone Zoom" has a camera with 3x optical zoom. While it is an unfortunate fact that the phone has only been made available in Taiwan as of now, we predict that an international launch will also follow, primarily because Asus released a global video recently to promote their latest camera phone advancement that is the "Asus ZenFone Zoom".

To show off the phone's most special asset, the video put in focus on the device's 13 MP rear cam, and how the whole smartphone was constructed to make sure that it is as slim as possible. It was said that the "Asus ZenFone Zoom" comes with lenses not less than 10 in number. It also has the Optical Image Stabilization feature on top of its laser autofocus feature and dual LED flash.

The "Asus ZenFone Zoom" has a really great set of specs too. It runs Android Lollipop from the box and is likely planned to get the Marshmallow update too. It has a 5.5 inch screen with a 1080p display and it comes with a microSD card, LTE connectivity, and a massive 3000 mAh battery. The internal memory variants are the typical 16/32/64/128 GB sizes and the RAM variants are 2 GB and 4 GB, depending on which internal storage variant you go for. Furthermore, it is dual sim enabled and it is available in Meteorite black and Glacier white colors.

Right now in Taiwan, the "Asus ZenFone Zoom" can be purchased for around $430 for a model with a 2.3 GHz quad core Intel Atom Z3580 processor and 64 GB memory, or around $490 for a model with a 2.5 GHz quad core Intel Atom Z3590 processor and a 128 GB internal memory.
