The New York City home of Lauren Bacall, the famous actress of the yesteryears who passed away recently, is reportedly poised to hit the market soon.
The New York Post first reported that the legendary actress's home in the Dakota Building would be up for grabs soon. Bacall's residence was appraised for $9 million shortly before her death.
Not much intel about the residence is available yet, but the Dakota Building has been an iconic landmark of the Big Apple for several years.
Located at 1 West 72nd Street, the nine-story building was constructed in 1900. Built by Henry J. Hardenbergh - the man who also designed The Plaza Hotel - the building hosts 87 units.
Building amenities include doorman and elevator services. There is a laundry in the building too. Pets are allowed.

Clearly, one of the most outstanding architectural icons on the upper west side it showcases amazing ornate finials and gothic details on its façade, a manned sentry in front entrance with oil-burning lamps and a lovely landscaped exterior and interior courtyard (tourists can be seen gazing upon this majestic structure at any time of the day).
The building is host to many celebrities including Gilda Radner, Boris Karloff , Connie Chung and Yoko Ono too, who apparently owns several units in the building, The Real Estalker (via Variety) reports.
The blog also reports that the Board of the building is pretty strict and is famous for rejecting bids from popular celebrities like Madonna, Cher, Billy Joel and Alex Rodriguez (nobody wants this guy around).
Bacall passed away in her Dakota Building home August 12, 2014 after suffering from an apparent stroke at the age of 89. The Bogart Estate, named after her actor husband Humphrey Bogart, confirmed the new via Twitter saying:
"With deep sorrow, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall."
Bacall was one of the most influential and inspiring actresses of the golden era of Hollywood. Her husky voice and seething gaze made her the hottest property in tinsel town at that time. She featured on many Broadway plays and on TV.
Bacall was survived by three children, six grandchildren and her dog Sophie to whom she left a separate $10,000 in her will.
