Luol Deng, the small forward who currently plays with the NBA team Miami heat, has reportedly purchased a swanky beachfront home in Miami, Fla., for $4.6 million.
Property records show that Deng closed on the home September 02, 2014 and even got a slight discount on the asking. The home came up on the market for $4.85 million in July this year and went under escrow by August end.
News of the purchase comes just two months after Deng signed a two-year $20 million deal with the Miami Heat. Deng was a free agent when the Heat hired him. Before his free agency and a short stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Deng played nine years for the Chicago Bulls after being initially drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2004.
Nelson Gonzalez of EWM Realty International was marketing the property. Gonzalez told the Daily Business Review:
"I know that all of Miami is extremely excited to have Luol join the Heat, and it's wonderful that he has chosen this exceptional home as his residence-and one that is so close to his new 'office.' This is a fitting example of the melding together of Miami's future as well as its past."
Apparently, Deng's new house is less than four miles away from the American Airlines Arena.
The residence is question here is a 3,375-square-foot, single-family residence comprised of five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. Surrounded by manicured gardens and the ocean on the front, the home sits on a 0.74-acre lot.
A stone-brick driveway leads to the main home, interiors of which boast of hardwood flooring, beamed ceilings and large glass doors and windows.
There is a formal living area, a chef's kitchen with Viking appliances and spacious bedrooms.
The property also has a detached two-story guest house.
Outside, there is a pool, open patios and recreation areas and a dock as well.
Dekla Oren of Douglas Elliman represented Deng in the transaction. The listing described the home as a "historic Mediterranean estate" and a "newly renovated property" that "offers wide bay unobstructed views with eastern exposure and spectacular Sunrise with lush landscape in a private, walled oasis."
